The following provisions are established to enhance the management of the international students’personal and property safety, maintain an orderly environment of studying and living, and promote the development of international students’physical and mental health.
The accommodation of international students is arranged by the International Education Department. In principle, all the overseas students must live in the on-campus dorms.
International students shall live in appointed dorms. Any unauthorized change or occupation of student dorms is forbidden. Students who need to change dorm for some reasons shall submit application to the International Education Department and can only move after acquiring approval. Lodging other people without permission is not allowed.
When students are informed to change their rooms due to building re-decorations or change of students’status, they shall cooperate.
Checkout procedures shall be timely finished when students have to move out or move to another dorm, either due to graduation, dropping out or suspension. All facilities and appliances in the room shall be kept in good condition. Any missing or damaged properties must be compensated. The International Education Department reserves the right to take actions on the students who refuse to checkout or move out when they are required to, and the students will pay for any cost brought about.
The dorm shall be kept clean and organized. Customized decorations without causing damage to the walls are permitted.
International students are obliged to keep the public areas in and out of dorm clean and neat. Water-sprinkling, dumping and littering out the windows are not allowed. Open fire is forbidden. No storage of hazardous goods (fireworks, alcohol, etc.). Pay heed when using electrical appliances. Pets are forbidden in the dorm.
Setting up and running stalls are forbidden in the dormitory area.
Please take care of your valuable personal properties and don't leave too much cash in the room. Keep the doors and windows locked when leaving the dorm, otherwise SADTI is not liable to any damage or loss caused by theft.
Please follow the class schedule and return to the dorm before closing time. The dormitory building is open till 22:00. Staying out without proper excuse is not allowed. Students have to ask for permission from their head-teacher for late return or staying out. Students shall take care of their own safety when staying out. Accesses into dorms through windows are prohibited.
No Shouting, frolicking and gaming and other loud activities in all of the housing, surrounding grounds. Quiet hours are 22:00 to 08:00.
The On Campus Housing staff reserve the right to inspect all rooms and document observations.
All the facilities and devices in dormitory areas are public property, which shall be used and kept according to related regulations and rules. Unauthorized disassembly, dislocation and modification are forbidden.
Residents are responsible for all behavior which occurs in their respective Residence Room. Room occupants will be required to pay for any damage of their room. Report any damages promptly so that repairs may be made. Dorm members shall share the cost if no one claims responsibility. Fees will not be charged if the damage is not caused by students but natural wear and tear.
Students’performance in the dormitory area will be took into consideration in the selection of scholarship candidates.
Dorm appraisal activities will be organized by the International Education Department according to the Selection Method for Best College Dorms in SADTI.
International students fail to obey the rules and regulations shall be punished according to International Student Punishment and Reward Policy in the Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute.
The International Education Department reserves the right of final interpretation for the above provisions, and the provisions take effect from the date of release.
